| Dave Caserio was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. He received an M.A. in English from NYU and a B.A. in Theatre from Goddard College. His work has appeared in The Salmon, Crab Creek Review, the anthology Children Remember Their Fathers, and on the CDs, Live! The Seattle Poetry Slam and Red Sky at Night: Poets Live in Seattle.
A former recipient of a Fellowship in Poetry award from the New York State Foundation of the Arts, Dave has worked in various writers' outreach programs such as the Jersey State Poets in the Schools, "Emerging Voice" 11th Hour Productions in Seattle, and at Goldwater Memorial Hospital for the Disabled in New York City under the direction of Sharon Olds. As a member of Seattle's 1998 National Slam Team, Dave has been an invited poet to the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, Bumbershoot, ArtsEdge and the Seattle Poetry Festival. He was active in Seattle's community of performance poets for nearly a decade, performing at countless venues, competing in the Seattle Slam and working with governing boards and administration of the Seattle Slam, Eleventh Hour Productions, and Seattle Poetry Festival. He currently teaches at Montana State University in Billings and performs around Montana, where he has participated in High Plains Bookfestival and Montana Festival of the Book. |
